U.S. Navy in Fort Bragg tonight, 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.

The disclosed areas of the U.S. Navy’s expanded “Northwest Training Range Complex”

 

U.S. Navy representatives will be at Fort Bragg’s Town Hall (363 N. Main
Street) tonight, FRIDAY,  March 23rd,  from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, for an
informational “open house.”

They are gathering public input for their Draft EIR, on controversial plans
for increased military testing and training along the west coast in a
so-called “Northwest Training Range Complex.”  LINK

An open house for a controversial U.S. Navy sonar training project drew a
small crowd in its first hour Thursday evening in Eureka, with some
residents cautioning of the project’s impact on marine life.

Eureka-based business consultant Ariane Stekol, who had been at the event
for about five minutes, said she wanted to know what it would take to stop
the project, but the Navy representative she spoke with didn’t answer her
questions.
“If you already know it kills marine life, why are you doing more testing?”
