DFG closes Abalone season on Sonoma Coast

SANTA ROSA, Calif. — California wildlife officials are planning to end abalone fishing along the Sonoma County coast after finding dead red abalone scattered on beaches and coves.

The California Fish and Game Commission voted unanimously today, Thursday Sept. 15, to take an emergency action closing the fishery throughout Sonoma County.
